Brett Passes FIRST TIME in Swindon

December 9, 2015

Brett Townsend, a business man from Midsomer Norton Radstock took and passed his lorry test with Truck School this week.
Brett does not want to be a 'lorry driver', but needs the licence for his motorhome which goes over the normal weight limits.
With training in Bristol, and test in Swindon, Brett was really pleased to pass at the FIRST TIME with just 3 minor faults.

Brett is coming back in the new year to take our artic lorry out. He doesn't need this licence at all but wants to do it 'just for fun'.......

Well done Brett. See you soon!

Brett Townsend - "I needed my HGV licence to be able to drive a new RV I’d purchased. I carried out extensive research into which company to train with. I chose ‘Belt Up’ as not only were they local, but their prices were very attractive compared to the competition (a lot were the same price, but you had to share your training with another trainee). I chose the 5 day course (4 days training and test on the 5th day) and was introduced to Mike (my instructor) on day 1. Being relatively nervous, I found Mike to be extremely supportive and calming during those first few hours. Mike chose a route that was not intimidating, so that I had the first day to get used to the vehicle and all of the controls. The rest of the week then focused on skills, knowledge and being aware of your surroundings. I could not have hoped for a better instructor, as I said, very calming, but a fountain of knowledge. I passed first time with only 3 minor faults, in a test area that I’d not driven before (a massive testament to the training). Suffice to say, as soon as my daughter wanted to learn to drive a car, ‘Belt Up’ was booked with no hesitation. If you’re in two minds, don’t be, you wont regret training with them"
