Well done to Owain Powell, who took and passed his class 1 driving test today. Owain only really needed his C1+E entitlement but as he already had the class 2 (Cat C), there was little point in going to a lower grade. So up to the big boys Owain went. Owain came to Truck School for an assessment a few weeks ago and we came up with a plan of action for the training. He was already reasonably good with his reversing and the driving was also good. A huge congratulations to Liam, who took and passed his class 1 artic driving test today. Liam is the eldest son of our instructor, Daren and Liam has spread his training over a few weeks due to work commitments. In actual fact, Liam has had very little training to reach today's result and to be honest, we were a little concerned that he had not done enough. However, he proved us all wrong by passing at his first time attempt and with ONLY 4 driver faults too! Well done Liam!

He has not handed over a penny for this week of training or the test as he funded the course by taking a student loan and completing a BREC level 3 diploma in customer service. Today saw the end of 5 days driver training for Stuart Hallam as he took and passed his class 1 artic test. Stuart works for our sponsor, Massey Willcox Transport and has been employed with them for a while 3 weeks now. Angelika took and passed her class 2 driving test this morning in the Bristol Kingswood test centre. Angelika is known to us in the office as 'Bob' (don't ask), and Bob learnt to drive out 18 tonne Renault curtainsider with Sean. This lorry has 8 gears with a split shift gear box and it does take some getting used to. However, Bob got the hang of it with relative ease.
